Bird Survey 31 January 2025

Russell Beardmore

Four observers participated in this survey. It is notable that Coot numbers remain low, along with Dusky Moorhens. Chestnut Teal is now the dominant species. I have not recorded it in the list but the observers were treated to a sighting of a White-bellied Sea-Eagle.

The count:

Little Black Cormorant 2

Little Pied Cormorant 3

Darter 3

Chestnut Teal 66

Grey Teal 2

Pacific Black Duck 24

Australian White Ibis 5

Eurasian Coot 6

Dusky Moorhen 2

Total 115

The next survey will be on Friday 28 February.
