Easier access to Ngara garden

Writer's picture: ModeratorModerator

Council has responded to our recent proposal for improving access to Ngara garden stating their agreement that a path leading to the garden would help to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.

We have since put one design option for a new single loop pathway -refer above image- to Council and walked this route with Council staff on site. Practicalities of using the path, pathway composition, cost and delivery time frame were discussed. Other designs may be proposed, with the final design being determined by Council taking all relevant factors into consideration.

While we are yet to be given any indication of when work might commence we are confident the current accessibility issues with Ngara make our proposal for a new pathway an obvious candidate for Council's program for improving access to parks, reserves, and beaches.
